Egypt is preparing to welcome visitors to its grandest museum, the GEM, which will display the world’s most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. The GEM is located near the Giza Pyramids and will feature 5,000 relics from Tutankhamun’s tomb, including 2,000 never seen before.
Egypt has launched several projects to beautify the area around the GEM, such as creating a new tourist walkway from the Shooting Club to the pyramids, developing green landscapes, and relocating the random stables near the pyramids. The roads leading to the GEM will also be paved and repainted.

The opening date of the GEM is expected to be between October and February, depending on the completion of the work. The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities said the project will be presented to President Sisi to set the official date. The GEM will be a gateway to Egypt’s past, present, and future, attracting about five million tourists.
