In 2022, more than four million tourists from different countries visited resorts and hotels in the Red Sea governorate. German tourists had the most arrivals with 1.158 million, followed by tourists from Russia, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Germany was the top country with 5.1 million tourists, followed by the United States, Spain, and Poland. The United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, and France completed the top ten.

Atef Othman, an expert in Red Sea tourism, said there were more tourists in Marsa Alam, with many European tourists arriving by plane from different countries. On October 14, Hurghada International Airport also saw a lot of flights, with approximately 12,000 European tourists arriving on 83 regular and chartered flights from various European airports. German tourists were the most numerous visitors to Hurghada in the Red Sea.
